]]> On Thursday, the show will have its first preview. After months of rehearsing in different rehearsal groups, we're all getting together to perform the first of many full stagings.

We need this. Though the rehearsals for Heaven forfend! have been improving week by week, we haven't yet developed that very specific performance jazz. That feeling you get while you've been waiting for forty minutes to finally make your entrance and say your lines. A mix of excitement and anxiety.

This being a VU University Amsterdam production, three professors from the English department will be attending this informal preview; I think most of the actors are more nervous about performing in front of them this early in the production than they are about passing the first audience test. Hopefully that's a good sign. (I'm just taking it as a good sign.)
